Sustainable Social Enterprise
I know I am a woman who loves art. I love art of any kind, but especially fashion. I also know I am a woman who advocates for women's rights. I advocate for survivors of domestic violence, and other survivors who are vulnerable of exploitation. I started making these lace design shirts as a fundraiser for an organization I volunteered with when I lived in Chicago. The organization rescued young girls who were victims of sex trafficking. Today The DreamCatcher foundation still has leaders and volunteers rescuing women on the streets of Chicago. There are even volunteers who use theater to advocate for anti-human trafficking awareness. Theater is their form of art and a way these individuals can express themselves. I choose to express myself through sewing. The designs started as crosses, but the intent is to be inclusive to everyone. I make these designs to remind the woman who wears the shirt WHO SHE IS, and WHAT SHE IS PASSIONATE ABOUT. WHAT MAKES YOU YOU? When choosing a shirt for yourself or a friend I challenge you to choose the one that best describes you. Please continue to get involved in organizations that help women remember their dignity and remember they can walk with confidence as themselves. Every women deserves the right to live with dignity and respect.
Kacie had the opportunity to display the lace cross shirts at a craft fair in Jersey Shore, PA.
